- Grant Rogers to provide JO with all financials and documentation by end of coming week to allow for consolidation association funds. ASAP JO to then hand over to KA as new treasurer to ensure all end of year reporting and ASICS requirements are undertaken. Once completed KA to present back to the committee on overall financials
- 5: National Measuring and certification
It was proposed by several members that a revised measuring system be implemented into Australia allowing for easier certification of all F18 manufactured products A similar system to the United States model has been proposed and GG is to draft guidelines on how this would be implemented.
The basis is for all manufactures who produce a minimum quantity of product will be required to self certify the goods and provide the customer with the certification that the item meets international F18 Certification. This would also mean the manufacture will be responsible QA of their products and if found in breach 3 times would be struck from undertaking self certification.
As part if this certification the association still withholds the right to spot check all boats and equipment and will undertake spot inspection at any organised F18 event.
In reference to National titles GG is also to propose a method to ensure weighing in of all boats is undertaken prior to race registration and further discussion was to be undertaken once the proposed certification model is applied.
- 6: 2008 / 2009 Nationals
QLD is to be the hosting state with DD's proposed location at this time being Humpybong Yacht Club Inc. Agreement was yet to be met on this and an appropriate date for the event.
The State Rep in conjunction with QLD members are to respond back to the committee with date and time.
- 7: 2008 Nigran Worlds Selection
Sailing instruction had been revised to show 8 spots allocated to Australia for the worlds in July. Discussion from both CC and ML felt that we have more positions available and it was agreed to ask all competitors during the presentation to put up there hands if they wish to attend.
As a criteria all interested parties will be required to place a $500 deposit down with the association 7 days from the presentation being the 4th Feb 08. JO to make a running list of these names and advise back to GG and the committee . GG will be responsible for co-ordination of the containers in conjunction with JO to help out
- 8: General issues
MG asked for an update on the change to domain for the F18 web site. JO ran over the changes covering the online registration process and noted that Hobie Australia was the registered owner of the domain name (f18.org.au) and a decision was to run with a new name register under the F18 Association.
It was also agreed that JO would draft a letter of thanks to Steve Fields for the work he had undertaken initially setting up the Association web site and also to ask if was open to cha nging over ownership of the domain name which would then be directed to aus.f18.org.au
