Australian F18 Catamaran Association

The Australian F18 Catamaran Association is the national body for Formula 18 sailing in Australia. We bring together sailors of all ages and experience levels who share a passion for fast, exciting, two-person catamaran racing.

The F18 is one of the world’s most popular high-performance catamaran classes, known for close one-design style racing, a strong international fleet and a welcoming community both on and off the water. Our members range from club racers enjoying weekend regattas to sailors competing at national and world championship level.

We support and grow F18 sailing across the country by coordinating state and national championships, maintaining class rules and measurement standards, connecting sailors with boats and crew, and representing Australian F18 sailors internationally.

Whether you’re a seasoned cat sailor, stepping up from another class, or just curious about what it’s like to fly a hull at speed, we’d love to have you join us.

To compete at the 2026 F18 Worlds at Jervoise Bay Sailing Club (JBSC), every boat must be class legal and fully certified under the International Formula 18 Class Association (IF18CA) rules. This FAQ explains what class measurement stickers are, what is required for both newer and older F18s, and exactly what Australian sailors need to do before arriving at the Worlds. · Read more
